Denise Faustman, M.D., Ph.D., is a co-founder and Chairman of Keel’s Scientific Advisory Board.  Dr. Faustman is the inventor of the technology that underlies Keel’s therapeutic approach.  She is Director of Immunobiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.  She has worked in the field of autoimmunity for over 15 years.  Dr. Faustman has made some of the key discoveries regarding the role of MHC Class I antigen presentation in immunity.

Joseph Avruch, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Molecular Biology at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Diabetes Unit in the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He is a leader in the field of intracellular signaling and protein-protein interactions and is internationally recognized for a series of discoveries that have enabled an understanding of how insulin, related growth factors, and insulin antagonists control cell function.  Dr. Avruch is director of the NIH-sponsored Boston Area Diabetes and Endocrinology Research Center and is a member of the Board of Scientific Councilors of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Charles A. Dinarello, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  Dr. Dinarello has published over 500 original research articles on cytokines, particularly interleukin-1 and tumor necrosis factor.  He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and is currently a member of the editorial board of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.  Dr. Dinarello is a member of the Board of Directors of TECHNE Corporation and the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Alliance for Lupus Research, GlobeImmune, Inc., Point Therapeutics, Inc. and Senesco Technologies, Inc.

John P. McKearn, Ph.D., is Chief Executive Officer of Kalypsys, Inc. Prior to joining Kalypsys, Dr. McKearn was Senior Vice President of Discovery Research at Pharmacia Corporation from August 2000 to July 2003. From 1987 to 2000, he served in various research positions at G.D. Searle & Co., most recently as Vice President of Discovery Research. In his various research positions with Pharmacia and G. D. Searle, Dr. McKearn had direct responsibility for research and development activities that generated several important prescription drugs. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Kalypsys, Inc. and ID Pharma, Inc.

John T. Potts, Jr., M.D., is the Jackson Distinguished Professor of Clinical Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of Research at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He is a leader in the field of endocrinology whose accomplishments have been recognized with a series of honors, including the Fred Conrad Koch Award of the Endocrine Society.  He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.  Dr. Potts is a founder and member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Radius Health, Inc., a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Boards of MPM Capital and HealthCare Ventures and a member of the Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board of Cell Genesys, Inc.

Brian Seed, Ph.D., is a Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He is a leader in the field of cytokines and cytokine pathways, cell signaling in the immune system and protein-protein interactions.  Dr. Seed was a founder of Connetics Corporation, Edge Biosystems, Inc. and Phylos, Inc.  He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of eBioscience, Inc. and of the Boards of Directors of eBioscience, Inc., Edge Biosystems, Inc. and Theracos, Inc.
